A pipefull of ready rubbed

Where can you buy chocolate smoking sets these days? As a small child I used to receive one every year from Father Christmas and enjoyed savouring the chocolate pipes, cigars, lighters and occasional vintage motor bikes contained therein. Admittedly the chocolate was cheap and greasy but this was only to be expected from something designed to get you interested in a career in casual smoking. Needless to say I graduated in true 'I told you so' style to a 40 a day habit. I have since kicked that particular habit but it has left me with a hankering for a good old fashioned chocolate smoking set.

My new flatmate has a fine collection of pipes (none of them chocolate I may add) and something very strange in the attic!

I bought chocolate cigarettes for all the kids in our house this christmas (all five of them), the other parents were at best bemused.. I thought it was funny.

welcome to the blogosphere!
does this mean you'll be coming out tomorrow night?!

At last, another chocolate pipe lover on the internet! I was never fond of the chocolate pipe as a youngling, and indeed many of my friends are still averse to it, more fool them, but I've very much been in favour of it in the last few years. Of all the pipes, it is the chocolate one that is the tastiest, it certainly leaves me breathless. I have to say I've never tried a chocolate cigar though, and frankly the thought doesn't hold much appeal.

My maternal Grandfather would always buy me licorice pipes, and candy cigarettes on days out to Dorchester. They were happy remembered days.
Later when I was a schoolboy at Marlborough, several of us in the upper fifth took the concept one step further and we clubbed together our pennies and bought ten stone of pork from the butcher, to make our own prostitute. The whole thing was stitched with blue wool around the biology department skeleton. Bellman minor even managed to purchase a ladies hat from the small ads in the Wiltshire Times. It was all so innocent in those days!

I'm intrigued by Anonymous's comments, because I for one have only had milk chocolate cigars up to now and clearly I am missing something.

Er, isn't "the old chocolate pipe" a euphemism for something less savoury than a Godiva panatella? I'm sure Tippler will fill me in, so to speak, when he gets here.

Welcome to our circle, Doris. Have you checked the wheels are still on your car, Aunty?

Hmmm, not so funny when it's sunny eh? I mean the chocolate would melt and then you'd have a licking-up thing to do....

Like the idea of 'Already rubbed' though....

You've somehow managed to switch off the bloody comments on the new post. Impressive for a new kid on the blog.

:-)

Brom said...

No, sorry. Same has happened to my latest post on mine. I'll let you off.

I know how to fix it. It seems to be working fine again for new posts. Just copy and paste your post into a new one, delete the old and the comment thing should be there as normal.

Or alternatively, just change the setting to allow comments (blogger has changed to no posts as the default - it's under the setting doofer, bottom left thingy).

Even easier!! Cheers Goth man.
